Last evening a group of us from IWSSB visited Kaka'ako Waterfront Park to see the setting sun, full moonrise, and the main reason...watch and photograph the fire twirlers at their weekly practice meeting aka Fire Jam.
First, we went to the last pavilion on the western side of the park. There we patiently waited for the sun to get low enough on the horizon to allow us to take pictures without having the area around the sun completely "blowing out"
As the sun set behind the Waianae Mountain range, I noticed Don had found himself some nice foreground so I rushed over and joined him.
Finally we got some color after the sun had completely disappeared behind the mountains.
Found a very pretty ghost.
Emily getting back into the hang of things.
Andrew and Bill combining their acrobatic with juggling fire.
It's been quite some time since I've been here and it seems this was the right evening to return. Andrew told me that this was their first time back, in a long time, as well.
Billy working the flames.
