Despite the overcast grey skies I met up with 4 other OPMUG diehards to take sunset pictures at one of the lookout points on Diamond Head Road above Diamond Head Beach Park. No one was optimistic about the sunset till the sun dropped about halfway down the lighthouse, Then the clouds opened up and the sun popped out to finally give us a sunset that would give us decent photos.
But first, earlier in the day I set off an insecticide bomb in my storage shed. The cockroaches poured out and my entertainment for the afternoon was watching them die...
I promised to pick up Yvonne at her work place and give her a ride to our sunset meetup. It was early when I arrived so I amused myself by taking some pictures in the courtyard of the John A Burns School of Medicine.
Yvonne and I arrived, at the meetup location, early and spent the first 15 minutes walking up the road looking for any of the other photographers from our group. We didn't see anyone so we hopped the retaining wall and took a few trial pictures before the others began arriving.
Everyone finally arrived but none of us believed that we would get any decent sunset pictures. Were we in for a surprise.
As we were standing in the parking lot deciding where to eat, I wanted to get a long exposure of the road and the cars traveling along it.
