11-01-29 Chinese New Year Festivities/Downtown

Today there was a parade through Chinatown to kick off the Chinese New Years Celebrations.  It was long and hot, but very entertaining.

I met up with Henry in the municipal parking lot at Harbor Court and we walked up Bethel Street to meet the others by the Hawaii Theatre.  As we were walking I began to take pictures of the buildings I saw.

We met up with Frank, his mom, Jen, Will, Sha Mae, Kitt, Weldon and Weldon's friend.  We stood on the ewa, makai corner at the intersection of Bethel and Hotel Streets.  When we felt that most of the parade had passed us by we began making our way down Hotel Street to River Street, where the parade participants wound things down.

After the parade was over, Henry and I moved across Nimitz Highway to get some sunset pictures with Honolulu Harbor as the background.

After the sun set, we went to Aloha Tower Marketplace to get some shots of Aloha Tower.
