12-09-29 EOH Shark's Cove Sunset

EOH had their monthly sunset / full moon shoot this evening at Shark's Cove.  Only 3 of us showed up... :-(  We had a great time anyway.  Milton told me that I missed out on watching Clark Little in action, I came at 5:30 so I missed out on walking to the beach that Clark shoots at.

Our sunset was not bad but not spectacular either.  These were pretty much the best I could do.

I thought this reflection was cool in that it looks like a hole in the rock through which you can see the sky.

Oh yes the waves were on the big side.  Winter swells are gearing up.

When I saw this all I could think of was "Thor's Well" on the Oregon coastline.

Lots of salt spray.

Cora checking out the sunset before shooting.

I was looking all around for something to use as foreground.

Moved to the left of the tree.

Tried shooting from within the tree branches.

I really had to "push" this to get this much color, but...

12-09-25 IWSSB China Town at Night

I wanted to return to China Town for another night shoot/walk-about.  6 photographers from the IWSSB group also joined me to wander around and see what we could come up with.  I actually walked away from the evening feeling that I didn't get much, but was pleasantly surprised at what I saw when I downloaded my pictures.

There's a peeping tom sort of feeling about doing this.  I'm looking into a small slice of people's lives.  Seeing only what I like best and disregarding the rest.

12-09-23 Holly's Going Away Party

In the late afternoon and early evening we held Holly's going away party at the #4 lagoon on Ko Olina.  Parking was not as bad as I thought it would be but the landowners restrictions about no standing tables is pretty ridiculous.  They want picnickers to serve their food off the ground.

I took quite a few pictures but had a hard time finding the right combination of settings to get what would be satisfactory to me.

I was surprised this worked out as all my other shots has a seriously blown out sky in the background.

With the setting sun, we all scampered down to the shoreline to get pictures.

That's all she wrote, folks.  The rest of my shots were pretty bad.

12-09-23 KOMPT Kamehame Ridge Hike

Sunday morning I hiked with the KOMPT beginners hiking group to Kamehame Ridge.   The weather was wet and the sky was overcast...perfect weather for photography.

Pretty clean, huh?

I liked this panorama but there a a couple places it seriously needs additional work on.
