11-03-19 OPMUG East Oahu Photo Caravan

The day began at the Niu Valley 7/11 where the Oahu Photography Meetup Group met to begin their "East Oahu Photo Caravan."  The weather looked threatening but we're brave... :-(
First stop, Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve.  Hard to believe it's raining everywhere else.

We headed to the Mokapu'u Lookout where it was threatening to rain.  We took a chance got out and started taking pictures...ha!  It was just waiting for us to get as far away from the car and shelter as possible...then it rained.

Lunch was at Keneke's Plate Lunch in Waimanalo.  I was less than thrilled with my meal and smoothie.  Can't say I'd recommend eating there.
The weather was a big factor, with us getting rained on more than once during the day.  When it began raining at the Nu'uanu Pali Lookout, we called it quits.  We bid our fond farewells to everyone else and Richard, Minh and I headed back to Niu Valley to drop Minh off at his parked truck.

As we were grousing about the weather, we decided to give it one last try and we'd go to Portlock in Hawaii Kai to get some shots.  It's usually dry in Hawaii Kai even when the rest of the island is raining.  So...

I saw this young lady when she came out of a tent she and her friends were using for shade.  I immediately wanted a picture of her tiger tattoo so I approached her and asked for permission.  She was really nice and I got this shot.

These three were jumping from the highest point.  Oddly enough it was the young lady that was the first to make the jump.  She was eventually followed by the two guys.
