10-10-02 Kaena Point

I hiked to Kaena point with All Things Oahu, an online meetup group.  For me this is always a very pleasant hike and I usually see something of interest with each trip.

This Dessert Rose is actually taken in my front yard while I waited for Phuong to pick me up.

 I felt so sorry for this particular Monk Seal.  If you look carefully, you can see it's  missing a fin and has some cuts on it's body.  Also there is a greenish tinge to it's skin, it almost looks like algae.
