12-08-18 IWSSB Yokohama Bay (Keawa'ula Beach) Sunset Milky Way Stars Light Play

Saturday evening a group of us from "I wanna shoot so badly" made our way up to Keawa'ula Beach aka Yokohama Bay.  According to the information we found, it would be a moonless evening so the only question was if the weather would hold and the clouds would stay away.

We had three objectives in going there...
1) Sunset
2) Milky Way & Stars
3) Light Play

Looking ahead to Kaena Point.  The white tent was for a wedding and reception held just down from the lifeguard stand.

A small bank of rain clouds rained on us then passed over us and drifted off shore.

The early group of our gang.

Found a pretty nice rocky outcropping that we were all able to use as foreground for our sunset shots.

The waves were of decent size (3-4 foot swells) but they broke over the rocks before they got to us.  It made for some pretty nice long exposure shots.

We didn't really get a sunset per say but the color on the horizon was pretty good.

The Milky Way.

Another...

Looking behind us towards the Waianae Mountain Range and the radar domes atop the ridges.

Marshall spun first.

This was pretty cool.  The person to the left was in the shot at the beginning of the spin then he moved away, so I got a ghost image of him with the sparks passing through his body.

Tin got really fancy with the chemical lights.

My last shot of the evening.  This turned out exceptionally noisy and I wasn't able to denoise the image without losing too much sharpness.
